I think I'd go for Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 over 8 Gen 2 because it's not only the newer version, but also utilizes X4 core, whereas Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 utilizes X3 core at a higher clock speed, i.e., 3.2 GHz for SD 8 Gen 2 and X4 at 3 GHz for SD 8s Gen 3. As X4 core is the newer core, it is supposedly faster than X3 core, perhaps by 10% to 15%. So, I think Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 scores higher in CPU, though Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 scores slightly higher in the GPU department. However, I'm not an avid gamer and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is fast and powerful enough to take on any games and apps thrown at it with ease and efficiency. So, yes, though Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a little less powerful in GPU, I'd prefer it over Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In fact, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is sufficient for my activities on my phone as it also utilizes X4 core at 2.8 GHz, I think, along with Cortex A720 and Cortex A520 cores. And Adreno 732, right, in Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is powerful enough to handle my gaming activities and other activities on my phone. That's why I might go for Realme GT 6T over Poco F6 because Realme GT 6T has a 5500 mAh battery with 120W fast charging while Poco F6 has, I think, a 5000 mAh battery with 120W charging. Though I prefer Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 over Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3, they are both powerful for my use, and I think Realme GT 6T is also more attractive than Poco F6, as I take looks seriously too.

The 8s gen 3 uses newer arm core designs but they cut the cache sizes so in terms of efficiency it's the same. And the peak performance (that nobody should care about bcs it's not sustainable) of the 8 gen 2 is higher.The gpu tho is a whole different story. The Adreno 735 (that of the 8s gen 3) is basically just an overclocked Adreno 730 (that of the 8+ gen 1). It doesn't even reach the same peak performance at 1100mhz as the 8 gen 2 at 680mhz and the adreno 735 is way way less efficient.For comparison: the 8 gen 2 reaches the same performance at 6 Watts as the 8s gen 3 reaches at 11 WattsOn the lower spectrum the efficiency gap is smaller tho

afiah, I believe the F6 Pro comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the non-Pro F6 comes with the newer Snapdragon 8S Gen 3.

A used Nubia Z50 is nice for me, it has a 8g2 which seems weaker but there isn’t much of a difference and the camera is much better on it. I even saw a few deals of it being less than 300 dollars while having 16Gb and 1TB

You should avoid any 8th Gen SoC other than 8th Gen 2, and the 8SG3 hasn't surpassed 8G2 yet.

I believe the 8th generation, Gen 3 processor, was produced with a clear strategy in mind. The use of the phrase "Gen 3" may lure technically uninformed individuals, even though Samsung might not be keen on this approach.

Okay, so the 8th Gen 3 performs 25% less efficiently than the 8th Gen 2 when it comes to graphics. I gathered this information from YouTube, where people have reviewed this chipset. Unfortunately, it's somewhat inadequate for gamers. You're better off with the 8th Gen 2 unless you're interested in superior 5G and on-device AI functions. I'm quite sure that AI and 3GPP Release 17 are the only advantages over the 8th Gen 2.

So, they basically repeated the same pattern as last year, releasing a chipset that is overall near but slightly weaker than their flagship chipset from the year before. This chipset has a much closer CPU performance than GPU (Adreno 735) performance. The difference this time is that they used the same CPU architecture as their latest flagship. Interestingly, they made two identical chips. The other one is the 7+ Gen 3, which includes an older two-year-old GPU, Adreno 730, that was also used in the 8 Gen 1 and 8+ Gen 1.

Both the 8sg3 and 7+g3 have the same GPU. The only difference is that the clock rate is lower and there's no ray tracing on the a732 within the 7+g3. The difference is simply between 950MHz and 1100MHz, which doesn't significantly affect standard gaming performance.

SHILL, No, just like AV1 support, ray tracing is also disabled on 7+G3 compared to 8SG3, which has both.
