How do you beat the Muffet fight? ›

The easiest way to beat Muffet is to buy a Spider Donut (or Spider Cider) in the Ruins and then keep it with you until her fight. If you eat it during her battle, she'll realize that you don't actually hate spiders, and end the battle early.

Muffet is a miniboss the protagonist encounters in Hotland. She runs a bake sale, being very angry at passers-by who do not purchase anything from it despite selling overpriced items for 9999 gold.

If you don't have a spider donut or cider, you have to basically survive 17 turns. Eventually, some dialogue will happen and the fight will end peacefully. Survive the entire barrage of attacks (and all her dialogue) and then spare at the very end when she is sparable.

Muffet may be spared by waiting or consuming a spider item (which may be bought at the Ruins). She does not fight if an item was bought at the Spider Bake Sale in Hotland and if the protagonist is on the Neutral or True Pacifist route.

Buying a Spider Donut from the Spider Bake Sale at Hotland prevents the fight with Muffet entirely, except in the Genocide Route.

During his fight, Papyrus will change your SOUL blue. Use long jumps to avoid the bone attacks. Continue to fight and avoid bone attacks until Papyrus fails his special attack. Choose "Mercy" to spare Papyrus or "Fight" to defeat him.

Can you skip Muffet in genocide? ›

If the Genocide Route is aborted by sparing Muffet or the Royal Guards before facing Mettaton, the protagonist enters the Neutral Route. However, NPCs in Hotland still do not appear, including Muffet and the Royal Guards themselves after being spared. This also leads to Alphys's ending.

Even on a pacifist run, you must FIGHT Asgore to defeat him. In Chara and Asriel's old room in the palace, you will find a worn dagger that you can equip as a weapon for this purpose. Bring plenty of healing items, preferably including the butterscotch-cinnamon pie, as using it will lower Asgore's stats.

So Sorry cannot be spared. The battle can be ended in two ways. Progressing the battle without attacking for at least ten turns. The battle does not progress while Doodlebogs are present.

The protagonist gains GOLD primarily through winning encounters, whether that be through killing the monsters or sparing them. Fleeing a fight is not considered winning and, thus, does not award any money, although money can still be won if another monster was spared or killed in the same encounter.
